Firstly, this issue can occur if the Outlook App wasn’t registered correctly with Windows 10 at the time of installation or the registry key has somehow become corrupted. As such, even if you enabled ‘Display a Desktop Alert’ in Mail option, you do not see it.

Microsoft Outlook is a webmail servicebased application which is an integral part of Windows MSN services since Windows 2000. Since then, the application has changed a lot, became more colorful and flamboyant with regular updates. Though after the introduction of Mail application on Windows 10, users are more tending to use Mail rather than using Outlook. But when it comes to successful integration of mail service, calendar, peoples all in one place no one can deny the efficiency of Outlook. Many users still use Microsoft Outlook for its features. They like Outlook because of many reasons and alerts of new mail appearing on the desktop is just one of them. But, some users are reporting to face an issue with ‘No alerts of new Email in Outlook’ on their Windows 10 device. If you are facing the same issue, don’t worry. When a new email arrives, Outlook may or may not show you a notification. The Outlook notification banner doesn’t display in Windows 10 when notifications are disabled or when Outlook is not included in the list of applications that can send notifications. In this video, I am showing how to enable read receipts in outlook and also how to enable delivery receipt in outlook.

Procedure:
From the main Outlook screen, select “File” “Options“. Choose “Mail” in the left pane. Scroll down to the “Tracking” section. Select the “Delivery receipt confirming the message was delivered to the recipient’s email server” and/or “Read receipt confirming the recipient viewed the message” as desired.

1. How do I turn on read receipts in Outlook?
Track all messages that you send

On the Tools menu, click Options. Under Email, click Email Options. Under Message handling, click Tracking Options. Select the Read receipt check box or the Delivery receipt check box.

2. Why am I not getting a read receipt in Outlook?

To trigger a read receipt, the message must be marked as read, which occurs when they switch to another message, or actually open the message. Also, read receipts might be blocked by Outlook. To choose how Outlook deals with read receipts, click the FILE tab and Options. Select Mail and go down to the Tracking area.

3. How do I turn on read receipts for emails?
Request a read receipt

On your computer, open Gmail.
Click Compose.
Compose your email as you normally would.
At the bottom right, click More options. Request read receipt.
Send your message.

4. How do I turn on read receipts?
You can enable read receipts for everyone who texts you under Settings Messages. Turn on the switch for Send Read Receipts. Now when someone sends you a text, you can view the message and a small Read note should appear in the other person’s text indicating the time you read the message.

5. Does Outlook have read receipt?
Outlook lets you request delivery receipts and read receipts for email messages you send to other people. Microsoft Outlook 2010 and later versions of Outlook also let you specify how you want to respond to requests for read receipts that accompany email messages that are sent to you.

6. Can you set read receipts for one person in Outlook?
To apply to a single message:

From your new email, click the Options tab. In the Tracking section, click the checkbox for Request a Delivery Receipt and/or Request a Read Receipt.

7. Why am I not receiving read receipts?
The receiver can have its reasons and choose not to send you a receipt. The receiver has the Receipts feature turned off. The request to send a Read Receipt is made when the message is being marked as read. The mail client the receiver uses must support sending out Read Receipts. In this 13minute Developer focused demo, Aakash Bhardwaj shows functionality visible within the user’s Microsoft Outlook environment, delivered by an SPFx web part for displaying email attachments for opened email along with the user’s OneDrive folders into which the user may save selected mail attachments (+/ 4MB). Usage in a tenant requires Mail.Read and Files.ReadWrite permissions on Microsoft Graph. This capability complements Markus Möller’s Sample that copies email to a Teams or OneDrive folder. This PnP Community demo is taken from the SharePoint Framework and JavaScript Special Interest Group (SIG) – Biweekly sync call recorded on November 5, 2020.
